Initial Start Up Practice

 

Thank you for inquiring about Pedo Springboard consulting services. This letter can help to explain a little bit more about my consulting as well as a general pricing framework. Typically, my two client groups are either pediatric dental residents who are interested in starting their own practice or junior doctors who want to break away from a senior doctor and start their own practice. Not to diminish having a practice management consultant, but what you would spend on someone like me or someone else is a drop in the bucket of your total budget versus being able to work out employee situations, grow your practice in an efficient systematic way, fire a bad staff member or deal with a lawsuit from not having a policy and procedure manual, etc.

 

My goal anytime I enter into a project with someone is to minimize the bumps, beef up your shock absorbers for those bumps, avoid pitfalls, instill confidence and ultimately HELP OTHERS ACHIEVE!

 

There are several ways to approach budgeting for a consultant.

 

 

1. Hourly rate for reviewing documents, floor plans, etc @ $550/hr. (max 3 hours)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Block time - similar to a retainer.  Initial block time starts at 4 (four) hours at $2400.  Additional block(s) of time can be added at a discounted rate of $2000 on an as needed basis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Packages that include a Thumb drive that has all of the manuals, forms, policies, etc. on it with block time to minimize how much you have to spend on creating your business systems (this is the typical initial startup choice). $6688 includes the thumb drive and 4 (four) hours of block time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Onsite consulting and team evaluation/team building with retreat. This typically involves me flying in on a Wednesday night, observing the practice and interviewing team on a Thursday while you see patients, meeting with the doctors after work over dinner on Thursday to review findings, then meeting with the team on Friday from 8:30-12:00pm and reviewing findings with a suggested corrective plan to implement. This option runs $12,500 plus travel expenses and accommodations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. Contract Personal Consulting is based on annual plans. Included in this is your pro-forma for the bank, the thumb drive with all forms/manuals, etc, site visits, staff training, block time per month, retreat planning, setting budgets, etc. This package typically runs $20,000/year (divided into monthly payments) and this is associated with a long-term plan and a commitment that aligns with major goals and critical timelines in your initial years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. Sending up to 2 key employees (or doctors) from your practice to observe and shadow Dr. Elliott in his office for two (2) clinic days at Cary Pediatric Dentistry in Cary, NC. Dr. Elliott will take guests to dinner after the first night and be available to answer all questions. Your office guests will have access to all our forms, handouts and be able to interact with all of Dr. Elliott’s team to learn the most from observing and taking notes in person. $4250 includes both days and dinner with Dr. Elliott. Airfare and accommodations are not included and would be arranged independently.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Please know that I am willing to work with you on any of the above to see what fits you the best or even create a custom plan to more closely match your needs at this point. Often when colleagues are looking to start up their own practice, I have found option 3 might be what you are looking for at this point in your career. Please note that packages 4 and 5 can be in paid in installment payments.
