You and Julie continue to operate one of the most profitable and well managed pediatric practices I have ever known. Be sure to remind all your consulting clients/students that you are at the top of the Pedo ladder for production, collection percentage, and profit. In my opinion, your success is due in large measure to (1) your management tools (analyses, monitors, and follow-up); (2) attention to details; and (3) the way you involve and respect team members. Your attention to details and the way you monitor work systems and share the information with staff is second to none.

Dr. Elliott's experience, insight and keen eye was invaluable in making suggestions and changes that I would not have otherwise thought about in the design of my new office space. His eye for spacing and layout helped me to make changes that I would not have appreciated until it was too late to make those changes. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for guidance or just wanting to get another opinion in the pediatric specialty!
Kim Hansford, D.M.D.
So, I committed to opening up my first solo dental practice but where would I begin? Recommendations from friends suggested a dental consultant. Then I came across an article titled "Hanging your single shingle....are you ready?" by Dr. Elliott. For me, I wanted a consultant that wasn't part of a large dental firm or corporation, someone who has personally been in my shoes in building their own dental practice and most important was they show a true interest in my journey as a practitioner. That's what I got. A mentor, an experienced consultant for a pediatric dental practice and a friend. The process took a year and it was stressful but with Dr. Elliott's guidance throughout, he helped keep me on track, avoid pitfalls, and make smart decisions for my practice.

Let me start by saying that I never could have imagined all that goes into starting a pediatric dental practice! Opening your own practice starts as a simple, adventurous, and exciting idea. However, once I was invested the realization quickly hit that it was time to either sink or swim. As someone going into this for the first time, I really didn't know where to begin. I had doubts about if I was doing things correctly. Dealing with so many people, how could I know who to trust? Was I missing some major step in the start-up process that would later come back to bite me financially or add time to the project? And on top of all that, how was I supposed to find time for my family, finish my last 6 months of residency, and successfully complete ABPD written boards? The best decision I made was to work with a consultant to help me with these concerns... someone who had been in my shoes!

Dr. Bobby Elliot is a fantastic leader and mentor. We hired Bobby to help us create a plan for needed change in our large pediatric dental practice in Lancaster PA. From day one, our interactions with Bobby were professional and effective. He bonded quickly with our team and compiled rigorous due diligence notes en route to creating an excellent plan of action for our team and patients. Bobby can wear many different hats with apparent ease, pivoting from being an expert in best industry practices to wearing savvy business and management caps. He is a true leader and developer of people. We will work with him for a long time to come and we are blessed to have him in our professional and personal network.
